Help is needed to identify the names and addresses of surviving family members of the officers and crewmen of the USS TRITON -- SS-201. They deserve to receive their loved ones' Commendations.

Fifteen of the surviving families of the officers and crewmen aboard USS TRITON for the Fifth and Six War Patrols have been identified and located as of December, 1998. The original numerically Serialized Unit Commendations for the Fifth War Patrol have been sent to those families. A number of living veterans of the Fifth War Patrol have received their Commendation. The NAVY does take care of its own.
Each family may make written request of COMSUBPAC for the Unit Commendation issued for TRITON's Sixth War Patrol, for their lost TRITON crewman. We can assist in this process.
